ARE YOUR WRITING SKILLS AS GOOD AS THEY COULD BE? Your business writing skills are frequently your most important presentation card. Are you giving the most favourable impression of your organisation and of your own capabilities when you compose your business correspondence? An email that is unclear and difficult to read will get little attention and may simply be disregarded. At a time when we are all constantly bombarded with written material it is now more important than ever to write as precisely and effectively as possible. Many professionals lack confidence in their own writing abilities, particularly in English. For this reason the British Chamber of Commerce is presenting an intensive 8 hour “Writing Skills in English” workshop on the mornings of March 15th and 16th (9:00-13:00). Who should attend this workshop? This intensive program is aimed at professionals with an advanced level of English who wish to improve the style and expression of their written business correspondence, reports and other documents. High Intermediate or Advanced Level of English is necessary. What will I gain from attending the workshop? The course, which includes a series of varied practical exercises, will give you: Guidelines to help you express yourself clearly and effectively Tools for improving the style of your correspondence and for varying the expressions you use Increased confidence about how you present an important letter or report Tips for avoiding common errors The workshop will be given by British presenter, Mary Ann Chamberlain, and will be limited to a maximum of 10 participants. Once someone signs up for the course, the presenter would like to request that you send in 1 or 2 examples of typical correspondence (or parts of reports) that you have written.
